Win2k3 implementing wireless router

We are running our network by RJ45 cables, and recently we decided to
implement a wireless router to cater the network for further growth of
users. But we encounter a problem, we are not able to connect the PCs
connected to the wireless router to the domain / server. Is there any
settings which I can set for the router work with our current
network/domain?

Note our model of wireless router = SRX WRT54GX Linksys Wireless router

Thanks & Best Regards,
Y.H

You are not supposed to use a wireless router,...your supposed to use a
wireless access point. (WAP). The wireless router is just a NAT device
designed to share the Internet with the LAN *in place of* your existing NAT
Device,...this is not what you want from what I can interpret. A WAP acts
just the same as a Hub or Switch except that it is wireless and is what I
believe you need.

If the wireless NAT Device you bought has the built in Switch (usually 4, 6,
or 8 port) then you can use it that way and just leave the WAN (DSL/Cable)
Port unused. The NAT portion (the so-called "router" portion) of its
functionality will just go unused as well.

Hi Phillip,

Thanks for the advise, note that we could still use VPN to get linked to the
network. And was wondering if we could use routing table to add in the IP of
the WAN to allow the two network to corrosponde to one another?

Hi Phillip,

I have found a way to make it as a WAP and still maintaint the WAN / router
function. I uses the advance routing section and manages the routing table,
now its able to ping and use devices in the network.
