I just resolved an issue with Windows 2003 Servers failing initially
connecting to my Windows 2000 domain on reboot. I thought I'd pass on the
solution in case anyone else runs into the same issue. This issue never
affected my Win2k Servers.

SOLUTION:

I have spanningtree running on my network. When the Intel Pro Nic in my
server came up, it did not wait for spanningtree to put the port in
forwarding mode, causing errors related to the temporary disconnet. When I
put the server's switch port into portfast mode on my Cisco 6500 series
switch, the issue was resolved.

Hope this helps,

JP
