We have been unable to get this to work properly on a Windows 2000
Professional Desktop Computer running Windows 2000 Service Pack 4

Local environment is a Linksys G Wireless Router
Linksys wireless utility sees and connects immediately to the Wireless
router
20 feet away with excellent signal strength.
Windows does not obtain an IP address (DHCP)
When a LAN cable is connected, IP is obtained immediately

Spent several hours on phone troubleshooting with Linksys Tech Support.

Installed latest firmware updates for router
Unintalled and reinstalled adapter several times

For adapter drivers, we are using the latest downloadable executable
that extracts to the folder WUSB54GSv1_20050428

WUSB54GS.inf has the following text:
; Windows 2000 specific sections ---------------------------------

[RNDIS.NT]
Characteristics = 0x84 ; NCF_PHYSICAL + NCF_HAS_UI
BusType = 15
DriverVer = 08/09/2004,5.1.3538.0
AddReg = RNDIS_AddReg_NT, RNDIS_AddReg_Common,ABer.reg
CopyFiles = RNDIS_CopyFiles_NT

Have tested with and without WPA.
Have tested with security completely disabled.
Have deleted Win2k TCPIP protocol
Have rebooted and reinstalled TCPIP protocol
Have uninstalled and reinstalled latest Linksys drivers many times

Have tested this adapter successfully on other XP and 2000 SP4
machines.
Have tested in local environment on XP PC with existing Linksys G
router and in other environment on Win2k Professional with Belkin pre-N
router. Works first time, every time.

Does not obtain an IP address on problem Win2k Desktop.
Adapter eventually gets a 169.xxx.xxx.xxx automatic IP address
Tried assigning a static 192.168.x.x IP address but still unable to
ping router, even with strong signal strength.
Linksys wireless utility reports adapter is connected to wireless
access point, but not to internet.

This has been going on for 3 weeks and not sure what else to check.

Help!
