Hi All,

I have a Windows 2003 server standard version, with two network cards. I
configured a Network Bridge which uses both cards.

Everything worked just fine until I installed WINS - after restart WINS
errors, saying that it cannot get the IP address from the first network
card, and it doesn't start. If I start it manually afterwards, everything
works again. I guess that WINS starts up before Network Bridge, and
therefore the problem, but it won't start automatically afterwards, and it
is a problem - I don't want to start it manually every time I restart the
server.

Any help for this problem?

Any suggestions how to configure networking with two network cards, bearing
in mind that the server should be a Domain Controller and File Server, also
having WINS installed?

Thanx in advance!

Regards,
Kizetoni

I just saw that in Services one can make extra settings.

When I open WINS, under the first tab (General), when service is stopped,
one can set Startup Parameters - any idea on how to make the WINS start a
bit later, or make it dependent on startup af Network Bridge?

Thanx in advance!

Hello Ian,

thanx for your quick input!

So, that would mean that I should open:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\WINS

and then under DependOnService key add fx TCP/IP...?
