I have been fighting this problem for some time and would just like to
share with everyone the solution. I searched and searched and could
not find it.

After install SP1 on my Windows 2003 server, SNMP.exe was steadly at
90% + of CPU usage. I ended up uninstall SP1 the first time but tried
to install it again today.

I had the same problem again this time. The SOLUTION was to use
Add/Remove windows components - Network Monitoring and Mangement
(something like that) - SNMP.

I removed SNMP and then reinstalled it. It asked me for my windows CD.
It must reinstall the old version. Now it is working fine.

I hope this helps someone else out there.

Matt
