I recently upgraded from Win2000 to Win 2003. All the servers are members of
a domain.

One server is used to connect to the Internet. It is dual homed with one NIC
connected to the Internet and one NIC to a LAN.

When both NIC are connected I cannot connect to the Internet since the DNS
queries will not resolve. If I disable the LAN NIC I can successfully connect
to the Internet.

This is same setup I had with Win2000 but i did not have this problem.

I have tried using RAS but no go.

I have also tried using two different computers with no sucess.

What can I do??

Can you ping a public IP like 4.2.2.1? If yes, how do you setup DNS? If no, check the routing table. or posting the result of ipconfig /all and routing table here.

Robert:

Thanks for the response but I finally figured out the problem. My Internet
NIC was configured to get an address from DHCP, while the LAN NIC was a
static address. When I configured a DHCP server on the LAN and had the LAN
NIC use a dhcp provided address the problem was solved.

Win 2000 will allow one NIC to be dhcp and one to be static but apparently
win2003 will not.

Thanks again.
