Yes they are both in the same domain. It just a test setup with 1 Windows
Server 2003 Enterprise set as a DC, 1 Win2000 box and 1 XP Pro Laptop. The
laptop is 100% compatible but the 2000 box seems to be restricted.
Yes I can ping with IP and Name but not sure what FQDN is. By seeing I
mean if you open Window Explorer and work down the tree in My Netork Places,
when I get to the name of the Domain Name under MS Windows Networks and
click on the domain it shows all the computers but you can't access any of
them. If I'm not logged on to the domain I have access to the XP machine
and the XP machine has access to the shares on the 2000 box.
I have used the 2000 box as a file server for years but since joing it
to a domain it is restricted.
