I have three computers on my network using a Microsoft
Broadband hub, all using ethernet cables.
The winXP computers had no trouble whatsoever connecting
to the network and the internet. I can share files
between them and also print.
Yet, the win98 computer is much worse off. It seems to
be connected to the network and can be pinged by the
other computers with success. Yet, when I try to connect
to the internet from the win98 computer, I get a "Website
found... waiting for reply" and then it just sits there
trying, before finally giving me an error page. Also,
when I try to access any shared files from this win98
computer, it is very very slow and usually ends up not
working. From this computer, I can ping the winXP
computers.
Also, when I try to ping
www.yahoo.com from any computer
on the network, I get the following error:
Reply from 10.33.71.17: Destination net unreachable.
Ping statistics for 66.218.71.198:
Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Any ideas as to what this may be? I am pretty confident
my TCP/IP settings on the win98 computer are setup
properly.
Thanks.
