A domain controller can not be in a workgroup, only a domain. NT4 relies on netbios
over tcp/ip to find computers and shares. Make sure all the computers have tcp/ip
enabled as they would by default and that your Windows 2000 domain controller is also
a wins client. All computers in the network should be wins clients if you want to
have good netbios over tcp/ip name resolution that the browse service uses. All
computers should also show at least three entries when nbtstat -n is run on them
indicating that they have registered names for netbios. The links below may
