Win ME will not shut down after installing Lan Card

After installing Linksys LNE100TX (Etherfast 10/100 Lan
Card) on my HP 7920 with Windows ME, my computer will not
shut down. It starts to and sometimes acts like it is off
but comes back up in 30 seconds.

It is not the fault of the card, as I tried the other card
I purchased in this machine and I get the same results,
when they work fine in the other machine.

Also on my Routter, even when I manually shut down the
computer, the light is lit for this computer even when
shut down.
