I have a 6 node network with 5 XP Pro machines and one ME
machine. Whenever I try to access a .jpg on any of the XP
machines from the ME machine the ME machine hangs.I don't
have to try to open it all I have to do is click it once
to select it and it hangs. I am unable to close the
folder or do anything it just sits there for awhile then
not responding appears in the window title bar after the
folder name. I can end it by hitting ctrl~alt~delete and
ending the task. I am able to access and run any other
file or executable from the ME machine. All the XP
machines are NTFS and the ME is FAT 32. Could this have
something to do with it? I updated to the latest video
drivers for the ME machine and did not help. I have
removed ane reinstalled the entire network on all
machines and did not help. At wits end y'all!!!

I forgot to mention that I am running only TCP-IP
protocol on all machines. I have also found that if I
just let it be for a minute after I try to access
the .jpg, the window will close and all is well.

NTFS vs FAT 32 has nothing to do with the problem.

What program processes .jpg files on the ME machine? There could be a
problem with that program. What's the name of the task that you have
to end?

Does it make any difference which View option you use to see the files
in the XP folder, e.g. List vs. Details. vs. Thumbnails?
