In my experience, you can only add a user to the permissions for a
Windows 2000 share if that user already has an account on the Windows
2000 PC. I don't see a way to add an unknown user to the permissions.
If you've found a way to do that, "pjp", please tell us how.
To give permission to a known user, you can either:
1. Add that user's account.
or:
2. Add the "Everyone" group, which includes all known users.
