Hello, I've been searching google for hours now and scratching my head
for days, and am posting this in hopes that someone could help me.

I work for a company that has a small LAN networking 20ish computers.
Somehow, randomly, I have three Win 98 boxes that will randomly lose
connectivity to the internet. They can not go online or check mail,
and the latest problem has been that one of these can not print to a
network printer, unless the computer is restarted.

Restarting fixes the problem sometimes for the rest of the day,
sometimes for a couple hours. I would check cables etc, except these
three machines all started having the problem at the same time and are
all inseperate parts of the building and totally different ports on the
hub.

The only recent change to the network that I can think of was that we
had two network printers added recently, however this issue did not
start right after that fact.

Any help would be most definitely appreciated, and I'm willing to give
any other info that would aid in helping me figure this one out.

Dani

I have had this happen and NEVER has it been a software problem. Usually it
was the hub or switch - something loose. I would usually unplug and then
plug in again (power and network cables). It's always fixed the problem.
(Though one time I did have to replace a switch that apparently gone bad).
Good luck.

With respect, and see my post BELOW, I have this problem
even when I have disconnected each computer (reboot, etc),
from the hub. I have even replaced hubs, NICs, and access
points. I struggle with what I think is a Win98 issue, be it
set-up or OS. I, too, an looking for a solution. See my post
below in this NG.

Jim.
