Hi,

Hope I have the right group.

I would like to know how to get a 98 client to connect to
an '03 server. Please point me to the appropriate
article, etc. I have researched Knowledge Base wothout
success.

THanks!

Mark

define "connect". do you mean connecting over the network to a shared folder
to access files? od maybe you meant logging on to the domain?

"Connect" can be either.

Logging on to the domain would be nice, but not strictly
necessary.

Accessing a shared folder is the bare minimum.

We are moving away from a Unix and NT 4.0 mixed
environment to an '03 server environment at the server and
from 95/98 to 2000 & XP at the desktop. Data needs to be
moved from the old to the new.

Thanks!

Mark

>I have done this a few times...you must know the ip

address if the nic on the server, if not set one so you
can connect. click on start then find then computer type
the ip address of the server from there you should see the
machine...double click then map a drive and check the box
reconnect at login and it will be there the next time you
restart the 98 machine. Make sure you have set this user
up on the server
