Hi, can anyone tell me how I can get my 2003 server to see
my other computer on my lan. I'm able to ping localhost,
internet connections, and other computers by ip address
and names. But as far as accessing its no dice. All the
computers belong to the same workgroup. I would appreciate
any help, thanks

Darren,

Having same problem. Look on second page for TBEAR and
see response I got. Followed suggestions - still nothing.
IP, DNS, etc. correct. XP machine can ping server, but
server cannot ping XP machine. Great puzzlement.

If you get any resolution, send it my way:

Thanks,
Ted

sounds like browser issue. quoted form http://www.ChicagoTech.net
Can ping and search a remote computer but not browse it
If you can see or search a remote computer in mixed OS (win98, ME, NT, W2K
and XP) network, this is master browser issue. You may try to use
browstat.exe from NT resource kit to check the master browser status. Or
stop computer browser on w2k/xp
