Our community downtown property owners association is looking at installing
a public WiFi hotspot. We have a router/access manager we're happy with.

What's the easiest configuration and equipment recommendations for antennas
and repeaters to use a main AP and extend its range, say, 2 blocks. We
don't have an easy way to cable between multiple access points. The goal is
to cover on-street parking and sidewalk benches plus 3 or 4 restaurants
along this 2-block long street.

I was wondering what acess manager you decided to go with. I'm looking to
do the same thing.

How many repeaters can be configured in a daisy chain? If I were deploying
wireless on a campus or a corporate environment, I'd go the multiple access
point route and bridge between buildings, etc. However, to simply achieve
coverage down a couple city blocks, why not deploy a single AP with an
outdoor antenna ("directional" still has a 30 degree spread or so) and then
position repeaters down the block to daisy chain the signal. I think a
block is only 500 feet long. If we want coverage in a restaurant, put a
indoor repeater near the front. This wouldn't require that many
repeaters -- is this too many "hops"? I would anticipate only a few clients
at a time. tia
