WiFi and Macs

We've just gotten our first Mac, and I'm rapidly discovering that it's
just as frustrating (though in different ways) as my WinDoze machines.
Discovery of the day: Hex WEP keys must be entered with CAPS LOCK on,
or the key will not be recognized. I kid you not, sigh...

Anyway, every time the machine boots I have to manually reconnect to
my AP, is there an easy way to make one the default that it'll connect
to on boot? iMac, OS-X, FWIW...

Thanks!

not on my mac they don't. i've never needed to use capslock for wep
keys.

however, you may need to preface it with a $ depending on the
operating system and airport software version.

go to system preferences, pick the network panel, click on the airport
tab, and then pick the wireless network name and type in the password.

it will connect on boot, sleep/wake, etc.
