If you take the laptop out you will definately need a router to replace it.
However, correct me if I'm wrong (again!) but don't you also need a phone
connection for your downlink and the satelite is used only for your uplink?
If this is the case you may wish to consider using a dedicated pc. A low end
machine will do and if you can get one second hand it will probably be no
more expensive than getting a router.
