TIA

Do you think the 650 will come with wi-fi? Have the specs been officially
announced?

Thanks,
Gary

The specs have yet to be officially released (since PalmOne still
wants to sell their #1 smartphone i.e. Treo 600). However, the current
rumours don't make any mention of WiFi access for the upcoming Treo
650. The current rumours only mention: slightly higher resolution
camera, higher resolution screen, and bluetooth enabled.

Personally, I would love to have WiFi access on my Treo 600...
however, I would settle for an SD/MMC slot that supports 3rd party
WiFi cards.

Yep as a long time Treo user - if it died tomorrow I fear its replacement
would be an IPAQ4150. BT/Wi-Fi for under 200GBP. Would prefer a Palm but it
is a sad day when its cheaper to go Pocket PC and get *more* wireless
functionality.

Not that I have any inside info, but I bet the Treo 650 has BT but not WiFi.
For some reason Palm is ignoring the WiFi market. I can also see where the
Telcos wouldn't necessarily want WiFi in a smartphone. It would take some of
their wireless internet business away. Not that I agree, but I can see their
twisted logic.

Cheers
TC

Not a card, but a sled, with its own battery, from Enfora. Details at
www.pdaphonehome.com

Checked and the treo takes an sdio card, and sandisk has them for the treo.

Interestingly enuf, I got an email a few minutes ago from a friend of mine
with a treo (the model with a camera in it), and he just sent me a photo of
some hot lookin babe outside the office, thru his wifi....
