Hi,

I am planning to use a WI-FI hotspot at a campground.

I want to do some on-line banking.
I am concerned about security of my access.
Will anybody on the WI-FI connection be able to monitor my traffic.

What security measures should I take to have a secure transaction?

Thanks,

Fred

Assuming that your bank's web site uses a secure https server (It should,
and your browser typically confirms this with an icon such as a padlock),
there is no security problem with the online transactions. They are
encrypted end-to-end between your browser and your bank.

Other, general surfing is not protected.

In general, when using any public hotspot, make sure the rest of your PC is
decently secured with strong passwords and no open shared folders.

VPN or other tunnel to a trusted server and then you may start to think about
surfing

Pozdrawiam.
