wi-fi and pocket pda

I have an ipaq pocket pc w/ PC2003. I am trying to connect to an ad hoc wireless network (laptop/desktop) at home.
The cards finds the network, but what do I have to do to the PDA to connect to the internet, or share files with the desktop?

Yes, internet sharing is selected on the network, and in fact does work fine on the network, but the PDA cannot use it
