wi-fi and domain gripes

Hello,
cannot find a solution anywhere on net so hope i get more luck here.... here
goes.....
the problem im having is that i can logon to my home domain fine but cannot
receive any group policy settings from the server as due to using wireless it
doest enable the connection to the server until i get to the desktop - which
is too late!
Is there a registry fix or something to actrivate the wirless connection
program before i logon???
any help would be great
