Hi!
I've been upgrading an older PII computer (Win 98) and have tried installing
a ethernet adapter. Installation works ok. All drivers are ok and there are
no hardware conflicts. There is a PCI modem card also installed.
However, I can't seem to be able to connect to my ISP using the card.
Internet explorer just won't "surf"/connect to any web site. (I've tried 2
different ethernet cards and I get the same problem).
I tried ipconfig and the card shows an IP address (card #1) but it doesn't
seem to be the same as the one I get with my WinXP computer. Card #0 (which
I assume is the dial up connection) shows 0.0.0.0
I have configured TCP/IP for the adapter to use DHCP and I don't seem to
find any other settings that should matter for my cable ISP. So what is it
that I have forgotten? Is there a way I can find out what's wrong?
Regards,
Svante
