Why, once I've connected via PlusNet first time in the day, do
subsequent connections take AT LEAST four attempts? It can't be my
equipment or else it wouldn't connect the first time. It's as if it
knows I've done it once and is rapping me over the knuckles for having
the temerity to actually try to get on again. I'd move on, but for the
hassle, which they, of course, understand and trade on with their
excuses.

From this, should one assume you are using a USB modem? Many people have
been recommended to switch to a router which will (generally) stay online
for days or weeks without any problem, and using an ethernet connection a
user has no 'establish connection' situation. Low cost routers (under 25
pounds) can be had see www.linuxadsl.co.uk Safecom "5" port (4 ethernet
and 1 USB, I think) was one of the cheapest on the market. Good luck.

They're useless?

Get a MAC and leave. If you are on LLU then

If you choose not to do that then nobody here can assist you. Plusnet
have left the building in every newsgroup/forum that they do not
control.

Their viral marketing strategy has turned around and people have
nothing good to say about them anymore. Amusingly they have so little
infrastructure (they used to boast about this IIRC) and their
reputation is SO bad now that I doubt anyone will buy them this side
of 70p a share - my personal bet is 50p and it'll hit that this
financial year.

I fail to see why anyone with even a modicum of intelligence (as you
seem to) remains with Plusnet, I really do.

You'll note I didn't insult you by saying "raise a ticket" ;-)

Try the Plusnet controlled forums - you may find someone there who can
help. Aoplogies for minor rant but you are unlikely to find many
people here that look kindly upon Pusnet.

The above is my opinion. YMMV.

erk ;-)

If you are on LLU then I'd just do a cease and provide. It'll cost you
money that it shouldn't but there you go. I'd go down small claims
track myself but that's your choice.
