Which wireless router has the longest range? Can you buy boosters? Also is
it worth paying the extra for a 125mps. and what's the difference between G
& N?

Consider getting an adaptor for your client machine that has a directional
antenna on, that you can point at your access point.

If speed is your main concern, use wires.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/802.11n#Protocols those are the technical
differences, the key bit to look at is the typical throughput column.

MIMO type are supposed to be better, but i have no experience. For an
access point, Buffalo boast 'extra' range.

A recent Computer Shopper comparison test of several routers put the Zyxel
P-336M and Belkin Wireless G+ wireless routers as fastest (with their own PC
cards) through a few walls and 20m+ distance.

The N revision to the 802.11 standard isn't finished and (by
definition therefore) there are currently no truly N certified
products; everything currently on sale beyond certified G
interoperability is proprietary. Everything on sale today is only
certified to interoperate as G with other vendors' equipment.

If you want interoperability, wait for standardised and certified kit
- no earlier than 2008 and probably late 2008 at that.

Besides that, any active G kit detected in the proximity of N or
'pre-N', 'draft N' (etc) products causes the latter to revert back to
compatible G mode - or should do. It's a kind of 'good neighbour'
approach.

So in some cases speed improvements using N (and pre-N) may only prove
to be theoretical and is certainly not guaranteed.
