BT, Tiscali and Wanadoo are the 3 main "cappers" it seems. Other smaller
ISP's may have some sort of caps on certain packages (i.e. pay less,
have a cap etc).

Plenty offer accounts with download limits. Some have been around a
while (MetroNet, from 10 to about 23 quid a month, plus VAT, on a
sliding scale charging extra per MB so you pay for what you use) to
BT Broadband, Freeserve, etc, which in some cases have a limit and
appear to suspend service (as per TV advert) or could have a hefty
fee per additional GB. PlusNet offers various tiers and charges
an extra 1.50 per GB for those setting a specific level for regular
use or 1.90 per GB if you exceed the level you choose. BT Broadband
has additional fees of 4 quid once you use 1 to 3 GB, and up to 12
quid on top of the 19.99... Pipex 1.95 per extra GB or speed cut
to 48 kbps

At higher speeds, MetroNet comes into its own as a lower cost ISP
(all prices below include VAT - MetroNet's web site shows ex VAT)

In the list below, I put the following codes for speed:
* 500 kbps ** 1000 kbps *** 2000 kbps

* 16.50 would get 2 GB on 500 kbps MetroNet PayGo500

* 17.99 would get 2 GB on 500 kbps Wanadoo (Freeserve) Broadband

* 17.99 3 GB on 500 kbps PlusNet

* 19.15 3 GB on 500 kbps MetroNet PayGo500

* 19.49 would get 4 GB on 500 kbps PlusNet

* 19.99 1 GB on 500 kbps BT Broadband Basic

* 19.99 1 GB on 500 kbps Pipex

* 20.99 6 GB on 500 kbps PlusNet

* 21.99 UNLIMITED on 500 kbps PlusNet

* 23.44 UNLIMITED on 500 kbps Pipex

* 23.75 UNLIMITED on 500 kbps MetroNet

* 26.99 15 GB on 500 kbps BT Yahoo

* 27.99 15 GB on 500 kbps Wanadoo

** 21.50 ~ 2 GB on 1000 kbps MetroNet PayGo1000

** 23.99 2 GB on 1000 kbps PlusNet

** 24.50 ~ 3 GB on 1000 kbps MetroNet PayGo1000

** 26.99 4 GB on 1000 kbps PlusNet

** 28.75 UNLIMITED on 1000 kbps MetroNet

** 28.99 2 GB on 1000 kbps Pipex

** 29.99 UNLIMITED on 1000 kbps PlusNet

** 29.99 30 GB on 1000 kbps BT Yahoo

** 33.99 UNLIMITED on 1000 kbps Pipex

** 34.99 30 GB on 1000 kbps Wanadoo

*** 19.75 200 MB on 2000 kbps MetroNet PayGo2000

*** 24.49 ~ 2 GB on 2000 kbps MetroNet PayGo2000

*** 29.80 ~ 4 GB on 2000 kbps MetroNet PayGo2000

*** 31.99 4 GB on 2000 kbps PlusNet

*** 34.99 6 GB on 2000 kbps PlusNet

*** 36.75 UNLIMITED on 2000 kbps MetroNet

*** 39.99 UNLIMITED on 2000 kbps PlusNet

NB The "Live Box" / "Wanadoo Home" (wireless router) which can be
bought online for 79.99 appears to be *locked* to allow access only
to Wanadoo unless you pay some unlock fee (like some mobiles!) though
I saw no mention of the actual fees, if any are actually charged !!

PlusNet <http://tinyurl.com/24ymz> - I recommend them and save some cash.
