Which provider

Well ADSL will soon be hitting my exchange, and I'm trying to decide on
which provider

Things I want:-

up to 6 static IP addresses
Ability to run servers
Keen Pricing
Good Reputation
no hassles with p2p software
Delegation of forward and reverse DNS to my own server
Ability to send mail out without going via a "smarthost" if I don't want
to
Ability to receive SMTP mail direct to my own machine(s)

Things that would be nice but not essential:-

provision of secondary dns service
provision of usenet service

Possible providers I'm considering include Zen, A&A and plusnet. Can
anyone confirm/deny if they meet these criteria? Are there any others I
should be considering?

Thanks.

A&A certainly meet your criteria.

I believe this may be free via plusnet.

Both.

Only on the lowest price one, pay a couple of quid more and it's fine.

Unsure.

Yes.

They do have usenet, though at the moment binaries groups are a joke.
They claim to be fixing it soon.

Do Zen provide delegation of forward and reverse DNS, and secondary DNS?

No.
Contact them, explain why you need them, and they will be allocated.
According to the comment in one of the plusnet newsgroups.

Don't let others decide for you - go here and decide for yourself.

Probably not. Apologies. Might make it a single horse race and paying
whatever the highwaymen demand if that's the only ISP that can do what's
wanted. I must admit to have only glanced at the details, and keen price
is perhaps a more common deciding factor. Peter M (not a Zen customer!)

Well this is the problem. I quite like Plusnet and Zen's pricing, but I
also like DNS delegation as offered by A&A. So I have a dilemma. What
about nildram? Do they offer what I want I wonder.

I've already looked at www.adslguide.org to draw up my small shortlist,
and while I'm slightly enlightened I'm still not amazingly so!
