Sorry if this over laps with my last post slightly, but I am thinking
of moving to Maidstone but need my house to be caperble of getting
broadband. I would use the BT website, but I put in the phone number
of a relative who lives in Maidstone and uses broadband and it said he
was too far!

If you live in Maidstone and either use broadband or would like to but
cant (for technical reasons) then please could you reply to this
thread and let me know either you post code or the general area of
Maidstone that you live in.

Thanks for your help.

The Loose exchange was enabled back in May, even villages like Marden (12
miles from Maidstone) are now enabled. I think all you need to do is to
check how far from the exchange the houses are.

Martin

I used to live in Maidstone up until a few months ago (ME15 9HJ area), and
was able to get the standard 512Kb ADSL service without any problems. The
line surpassed 4Mb when tested by a BT engineer, but due to the distance
from the exchange (5.36km) the engineer said no ISP would guarantee a
service with a higher speed than 512Kb.

Hope this helps.
