Does anyone have any recommendations for an ISP and newsgroup service combo?
I'm thinking of going with F2S 2mb uncapped or very high cap (which will
hopefully upgrade to 8mb soon) and Giganews for their binary newsgroups.
Would this be a good choice or can I get an even better deal?

Never used F2S, so can't comment.
I've used Giganews for some time now - excellent service, retention,
stability and speed.

Have a look at http://www.powerusenet.com

They seem to be a Giganews reseller/partner and although they don't
allow posting, they are a bit cheaper than Giganews even though you end
up at the Giganews server farm.

cheers,
Paul

Giganew and Zen.

Not the cheapest combination but streets ahead of the rest.

F2S has recently be purchased by Pipex so wouldn't be my choice.

Alf.

FidoNet have recently swapped our previoulsy limited news service for
a full SuperNews backed/hosted news service (including binaries/etc).

No limits on downloads, speeds up to 8Mb (depending on Exchange and
line/etc), prices from 24.99 inc VAT per month for up to 2Mb with
1-month contracts.

Free migrations, and we're also doing free connections during December
for email/phone orders ((E-Mail Removed)) (we're redoing the online portal
currently, so no online orders just yet)

I use Demon and Giganews - an excellent combination

I think we're back to the "you get what you pay for" bit ;o)

Agreed. Although Pipex use Giganews for their news feed.

Newshosting do an unlimited account for $14.95pm 4 simultaneous
connections only 24 days retention but do you need more?

Tiscali are good at off-peak times high speed unlimited usage but cr*p
at peak time. They have a 12 month minimum contract period, but there is
a get out of jail free card. If you abuse there FUP then they are bound
by there own T&C to give you the option of leaving immediately without
breaking contract.
