Which Antenna should I buy? 802.11x connection ~ 10km away!

I am going to try and connect to a OMNI directional antenna from a
friends house 10km away! We HAVE a line of sight between us. I would
like to buy the antenna which would be the easiest to aim and most
reliable. Parabolic or Yagi... or Vagi... maybe even a cAntenna?????
What dbi should I get? As high a gain as possible??? I was thinking of
getting a 24dbi Parabolic mesh dish. We both have VERY short high
quality 6ft cable runs to our routers from the antennas.

BTW.... his OMNI is a 6ft 15.4dbi antenna. I know it would be best if
we both use directional antennas... but he has people from every
direction connecting to it.

(we use it for gamming)

Any help would be appreciated...

P.S. Is there any place on IRC that I can go to ask questions like
this??? I tried DALNET servers but could find anything or anyone to
help.
