Are you using the text newsgroup? Make sure you have it set to
text.usenet.plus.net assuming you don't want binaries.

Are you sure? Are you a customer?

http://www.plus.net/support/member_f...a_glance.shtml

says "Text Usenet news.plus.net"

Don't believe everything on the PN site !

It is definitely ' text.usenet.plus.net 'for text groups.

Shortly to become a redundant question seeing as the binary section is being
turned off shortly.

I haven't seen any statement yet as to whether news.plus.net will then
become the new text-only news server in place of text.usenet.plus.net,
or what.

Their customer settings only mention news.plus.net; knowledge of the
existence of text.usenet.plus.net seems to be scattered around usenet
discussions and their (bleagh) web forums, but not listed clearly in
any obvious documentation - at least not that I was able to find when
I looked.

Yes! Absolutely a shambles. These people have NO idea how to run an ISP. I
suppose it COULD be true that we are supposed to be using the
text.usenet.plus.net server BUT - has anyone bothered to tell us? They are
so busy cutting their costs to improve the bottom line that they can't be
bothered to tell their customers what's going on. No matter - this sort of
thing just leads to corporate disaster.

You're not helping matters by paying them £xx a month. Vote with your
feet and move to another ISP that doesn't treat it's customers like
shit.
