Well, I have someone's property in the way of my two antennas. I have a
specific problem with his 40' tall oak tree. This tree is causing me
technical problems which would take an enormous amount of effort and
pocket change to resolve. I'd like to discreetly resolve my problem but
I wonder how. I don't want to use anything noisy and too obvious. I'd
like to make the problem go away so my intentions are not noticed. Any
suggestions??

The bug

PS- yea... I already know I'm a bad boy.

Ohhh - you naughty boy!

Best way to kill a tree is to remove a wide-ish strip of bark and
green wood around the circumference of the trunk - this stops the
nuitrents from the roots reaching the leaves.

Not that I'd ever do such a thing though.....

Why not stick a repeater in the oak tree and offer the owner internet
access?

Or just go around like everyone else!

David.

You're going to kill somebody else's 40-foot tall oak tree, which is
probably older than you are because you don't want to reposition your
antennas?

Get your antennas higher, in a different location, go directional, amplify,
or all four.

If I spot somebody on my property poking around with a chainsaw (which would
be the quickest way as poisoning can take months or even years), I'd
probably empty a few magazines in their general direction.

Besides, if your neighbor happens to see that his oak tree has died or is
dying, and happens to search the Internet for information on dying oak
trees, he'll probably put everything together and get a lawyer... and the
Attorney General will be on his side.

I'm glad you are not my neighbor. If your neighbor had a building in your
line of sight I suppose you'd torch it.

What would be appropreate action on your neighbor's part if he thought you
were interferring with his telephones? Using your logic, he should dynamite
your antennas.

Interesting...

There happens to be someone over in the Tree newsgroup asking about
how to kill their neighbor's two antennas (and the receivers).

Someone suggested discretely applying 20KV, and that it would look
just like a natural lightning strike.

Smile in the face of adversity - and adversity will probably
think you're taking the piss and kick the shit out of you.

The best way to kill a tree, is by applying a large (or several) kopper
nails (Cu is the technical term). The tree then dies from inside, and
looses all leaves.. then the owner has to cut it down.. costing him
maybe much money.. (and other postings tell you what can happen)

OR: Battery-drill, 10 mm drill, 10-20 CM inn.. Pure "Roundup"
weed-poison kills about everything.. if you cut out a hole first, and
then drill, you can replace the "plug" and hide the hole

Well.. for educational purpose only - this posting is...
