I have a Netgear WGR614v2 Wireless Router plugged into my cable modem. My
Toshiba (Satellite 2455-S305) laptop has a Dell Truemobile 1300 miniPCI card
installed, and is running WinXP Pro (SP1, and Wireless Rollup Pack
installed).

What I find is that after approximately 45 min, my connection just drops.
However, the little icon in my system tray continues to appear normally. It
says the signal is still "excellent", and connected...but no internet works
anymore. My AIM tells me connection lost, and no internet works - I know I
am not online, but the icon says I am. The range is not the problem, it is
always "Excellent" or "Very Good" in my whole house.

I don't know if the problem is my router or my PCI card or winXP
settings...I've tried updating the firmware of the router, and the drivers
of my card, none worked. I've changed the channel of the Router from 11 to 1
(someone suggested that in another post), but, alas, no luck.

Another poster suggested to disable "Wireless Zero Configuration", and use
my card's software. When I tried this, no connection shows up. When
Wireless Zero Configuration was on, I at least connected (even though it
dropped every 45 min or so). With Wireless Zero Configuration disabled, no
connection is ever even formed.

I have no idea what to try anymore... PLEASE HELP ME!

Try connecting to WGR614 using wired connection and check what the router
report for the wireless connection.
Buy and install in your Toshiba Netgear WAG511 CardBus(if your laptop
support CardBus) adaptor and use it.

"Try connecting to WGR614 using wired connection and check what the router
report for the wireless connection."

What should I be looking for?

"Buy and install in your Toshiba Netgear WAG511 CardBus(if your laptop
support CardBus) adaptor and use it."

Huh? What is it? and why do I need it?

Ok, I think I got it working, and I have no idea which thing I did was
the reason it works, but here's all I did:
- Netgear WGR614v2 firmware updated to newest version (Version 2.05 -
Oct 9 2003)
- WEP-128 (WPA off)
- WinXP Wireless Rollup Package Installed
- Wireless Zero Configuration set to Automatic (on)
- Uninstalled ALL drivers and utilities for my TrueMobile 1300,
restarted, let windows recognize it, and install drivers from the CD
it came with. (But did NOT install the Dell utility.)

Something, or a combination of all of these, fixed my problem. Thanks
for all your help!
