WGR614 Slows Connection Speed

I have a Netgear WGR614 wireless router. My cable connection usually
tests over 3 mbps. Using the router the internet speed tests about 400
kbps when no other computer is using the internet. It seems the same
on both wireless or connected to the built in switch. Are there any
settings to change to make it faster?
