Equipment:::
Netgear WGR614 [router/fw/ap] _upstairs_ attached to the cable modem [also
upstairs]
Laptop w/ PCMCIA WLAN card _upstairs_
Computer 'man-lan' room _downstairs_ where the network printers are [ether
printserver].
Wireless Bridge/AP _downstairs_
The laptop will only associate to the upstairs OR the downstairs APs, not
both.
I'm trying to BRIDGE the wireless segments. But what seems to be happening
is:::
upstairslaptop--wireless--wgr614--lan
when what I really need to happen is:::
upstairslaptop--wireless--wgr614--wireless--downstairsbridge--lan
but it appears that the WGR614 wont tx out the wlan if it received the
packets on the wlan. yes? no? maybe? can anyone confirm this?
so what I was thinking next was:::
uspc = UpStairs PC
dsps = DownStairs Print Server
usrf = WGR614 UpStairs Router/Firewall
usbr = UpStairs BRidge
dsbr = DownStairs BRidge
xc = crossovercable
wlan1 = ssid wlan1
wlan2 = ssid wlan2
uspc--wlan1--usrf--xc--usbr--wlan2--dsbr--dsps
Will that ^^^^^ work? thoughts?
thanks
