WET11 v2.0 and preabmle on AP

My site: 2 AP (WAP11), 15 clients (WET11)

I have just spent 2½ hours on making a brand new WET11 v2.0 with
latest firmware work. It's the second v2.0 unit on my LAN. The others
are all v1.0

It refused to connect with more than 1 Mbit, regardles of distance
from the AP. I tried changing AP, channel, SSID, keys, WEP on/off etc.
Nothing worked.

As a last idea I tried altering the preamble on the AP from "short" to
"long". THAT did the trick!!! Now it runs stable at 11 Mbit. It
doesn't look like the altered preamble interferes with the stability
of other clients. One has to wonder.
