I'm thinking of purchasing a WET11 wireless bridge. Is this product
good or bad? I want to connect my downstairs 100base-T segment
with my upstairs 100base-T segment. I have the Linksys Wireless Router
upstairs. Currently I have a piece of cat 5 out the top window and back in
a bottom one. that is what I'm trying to eliminate.

thanks,
Chris

This product is great! And you can do some very interesting things with it.
I used it for about a year to bridge a LAN with my neighbor.

You can get the WET11 (802.11b 11Mbps) or the WET54G (802.11g 54Mbps) models.

How does it work if I plug it in a switch? Will the switch forward
all packets to the bridge that may need to go over it?

Yes!
Simply plug the WET11/WET54 into any switch on the LAN to share all computers on that LAN.
Great for connection two LANs together and/or sharing Internet access from one LAN to another.
Great product.
