WET11 Issue with Home Network

Hello, I have a problem.. my WET11 hangs occasionally.

Let's see if I can describe the setup:
1. Internet access comes through a Cable modem I got from comcast
2. From there, the cable modem is hooked up to a LinkSys 4-port with
wireless router (this works as my access point)
3. I then have a WET11 Wireless bridge in another room that is
connected (wired) to a couple computers with LinkSys switch. the
wet11 is in Infrastructure mode.

I have two situations that seem to work fine:
1. I think everything works fine in the abovementioned setup.
2. Alternately, if I shut down those computers, then access the
Internet from a wireless laptop, everything seems to be fine with the
laptop.

Here's what doesn't seem to work:
I try to access the internet from my Wired Computers (connected to the
Bridge) at the same time I try to access the internet from my wireless
laptop (which I assume bypasses the brige and gets to the internet
directly through the wireless router)

Two problems:
1. After a while in this configuration, the WET11 will lock up and
need to be "rebooted". (I loose access to the internet from all wired
computers)
2. I can share files for while between computers before everything
locks up. (WET11 locks up)

I have the original WET11 (v1) with firmware 1.4.3. I think this
setup USED to work fine for a long time. Something in my setup
changed that broke everything.

Any help would be greatly apreciated!!

Thanks in advance.

To work properly as a bridge, the WET11 needs to be set to ad-hoc mode.
I know, seems wrong. I was having trouble with two WET11's bridging a
couple of networks. Called linksys and was told to set to ad-hoc mode.
Worked fine then.

Thanks for the reply. That brings up one more question:

Which is Ad-hoc mode, and which is Infrastructure mode????

There are two settings which seem to be independent of each other:
1. In the web interface setup screens, I can choose "Ad-Hoc" or
Infrastructure. Okay, pretty straitforward.

2. On the back of the bridge, there's a switch. X (for crossover I
think) and II for pass through (or something like that). Which one of
these settings corresponds to Ad-hoc and which one corresponds to
Infrastructure? Or are they even related? Basically what I've been
doing in the past is just switching it until I get a green LAN light,
then assuming everything was okay.

Thanks again!

Ad Hoc mode is when two or more clients (ie the WET11s) want to talk to each
other and noone is in charge.

Infrastructure is where there is a single router connected to the outside world
and multiple clients.

Neither. The switch is to identifiy the type of ethernet cable you are using to
connect the WET11 to the device (Replay). Most of the time you should have it
set to passthrough or normal.

Update your firmware to 1.5.4. Keep your bridge in infrastructure.
Personally, I would use all static addresses. I have a similar setup.
This will work.
