Westell 327W From Verizon --- Returns Being Recycled?

I could not help but notice (and also, they were clearly labeled as such)
that me and my friend both received our Westell 327W modems from Verizon and
that they were both "repackaged". Both modems are having problems with
disconnects after about 30 minutes-- most of the research I have done online
seems to indicate that the Westell 327W series has been problematic. It
would appear that Verizon is just recycling the returned modems, as the
contents of one of the packages was really a mess. Would like to hear about
experiences from others who have ordered the 327W from Verizon regarding
having received new or recycled and what, if any, problems you have
encountered.
Thanks.
