Weird rt2500 problem

Hi,

I'm having a really strange problem with an rt2500 802.11g wlan pci
card. I'm using the http://rt2x00.serialmonkey.com/ driver. When I
first load the driver and set up the interface, everything works fine,
but I can only transfer data properly for a few minutes, sometimes a
little longer. Then it will suddenly slow down drastically or come to
a complete halt. I stop the transfer and try to ping the access point,
and it will sometimes not respond for some time - but after say around
ten seconds the connection always comes back, but I cannot get proper
transfer rates again - only around 20 kB/s, and the connection will
again periodically die altogether. Unloading and reloading the driver
does not change anything, I need to reboot to make it work properly
again, but as I said this will only last a few minutes or so.

The problem is not with the AP as other nodes on the wireless network
work fine.

Any clues, anyone?
