Weird Connection Dying Prob

The last few months ive been experiencing strange behaviour from my
internet connection. After a day or 2 my internet connection starts to play
up. This seems to be caused by Azureus (a p2p program) it will continue to
work but my web-browser, email, mirc and messenger loose there internet
connection and all act as if i have no connection to the internet at all.
This will still be the case after closing azureus.

The only way to cure it is to reset either my Router or the pc. This problem
appeared only recently and i ve been using Azurues for a long time. It
seemed to come about at the same time as i changed my router. I used to have
an old STI-Lab router that i brought from ebay and never had this problem.
Once i replaced it with a Linksys 108.11G router i starteed to get this
problem, sent it back and got the same from Belkin, still get this problem.

Ive been experimenting over the last month limiting the amount of
connections Azureus makes by quite a lot and activating other functions
designed to stop it killing your internet connection. It does give my
internet uptime a few more days at best but no amount of throttling will fix
it.

My question is whats going on? is it the pc or the router? rebooting either
seems to fix the problem also it happened with both the Linksys and Belkin
routers.

All hardware is the same except the router but i think i reinstalled windows
also about the same time i got the new router.

Its really starting to annoy me now, please help :/

Some quick details...

xp pro sp2
realtek ethernet onboard
Belkin 802.11G Cable Router
NTL Ambit 120 modem

Assuming this means you are connected to ntl.... that's probably your
problem.

I have been seeing similar over the last week or so and so has my neighbour.
Try changing your internet options (connections tab) to use a cache.

http://homepage.ntlworld.com/robin.d...trancache.html

just pick one of the proxies and enter it in the http field.

I use glfd-cache-1.server.ntli.net which works now but may go flaky and
need changing for another.
