Hi All
I'm sure there is a really simple solution, but I'm b*gg*rd if I can work
out how to do this.
I want to run a web-cam on one lap-top (initially to monitor the bairn in
her cot) and veiw the out-put on either of two other PCs.
The lap-top with the web cam is linked successfully to the router, the
router and the other two PCs are wired.
All PCs are running Windows XP (2 home, 1 pro).

The next part of the project is to be able to veiw the webcam over the web,
but that's for another day.

Thanks in advance for your help

Mike - Leicester

Microsoft Netshow could do that, but they've probably bundled it up in
WMP10 now and you have to sign over future rights to your unborn
children's kidneys to use it. Or just press "I accept".

Well, one way of doing it easily is "Yahoo Messenger".
You'll need to create three free accounts at Yahoo and find each other
through their system (no need to be in their directory) but once
connected, all the traffic is internal to your network.
This will work with most routers, which do standard NAT masquerading.
It means being on-line, OK if you're on broadband.

Don't forget good old Netmeeting (called conf in XP) that supports web cam
work.

You can even setup remote desktop access on your laptop so that you can
access the laptop from any of the pc's on he network and even shut down the
laptop remotely if you want.
