Now I have been throwing this idea around to a lot of the forums,

I havea 5 port mini switch running 2 pc's on a home network, and also a OPEN
iConnect router for my broadband connected to the mini as well.

Now i am looking at setting up a web server, to host my own web sites off my
pc, but It seems that only the pc's on my network can see my sites, not the
pc's on the internet. does anyone know how i can solve this problem and
still keep both pc's on the network?

On the Router, forward TCP port 80 to the static IP address of the PC loading the http
Daemon/Service.

Cool, now all i need to do is either get a good enough web site to put
there, or just share all of my downloaded files for people to get. what you
think?

Editing html, php, or asp is kind of annoying. You could get yourself a
content management system, which would automate a lot of the stuff. There
are a lot of free ones like drupal, php-nuke, post-nuke, and many others.
Also, you can try http://www.cmsmatrix.org/ which compares different content
management systems in a nice little feature table.

I think you need to make sure it does not violate the Terms of Service (ToS) and/or
Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) of the ISP first.

Do what now? why or how would my web site offend, or break rules of my ISP?
they are the ones that actually suggested that I convert my spare drive
space into a web server so they could lease some of the space from me.
seemed like a good idea, i mean now i get 1500kbps at 40 gig unlimited a
month for nothing. all for letting them lease 2 gig of my hard drive. yay.
