I have a Linksys WRT54G configured to forward port 80 to a machine for
web serving. The router is hooked to my dsl modem which in turn is
hooked into the internet.
Web serving works fine, except for files greater than (approx) 1024
bytes. This is true for text or image files. Did I miss a setting
someplace? Has anyone had experience with this?

If I access the web server from a machine on the same lan, with a
wireless connection to the same WRT54G, this limitation doesn't exist.

If I take the router out of the picture and connect the dsl modem
directly to my web server, it works fine, without the 1024 byte size
limit.

Thanks in advance,
Michael

Also discovered this limitation exists for html forms and email: I
can't large email messages, nor submit html forms that have more than
a few fields.

Does't this have something to do with the mtr???? size. A friend had
trouble and made a change on the router.

You're right, if you mean mtu (Max Trans unit). I had the it set to
auto. Setting to Manual with size of 1492 fixed the problem. I'm using
a Bellsouth DSL connection.

Well I was sort of in the right place, not much difference from mtr to
mtu . Glad it helped..
