Hi there - I'm hoping that someone has some experience with snmp for
linksys:
here's my dilemma:

I have 9 WAP54Gs on various floors of a building, and on most of them,
SNMP works fine. One of them has the must_die firmware, and it's SNMP
doesn't include interfaces. Another two of them are new, and their
SNMP isn't working either. Here are some snapshots of them:

Here's the must_die one:

david@www:~$ snmpwalk 66.160.4.145 -c public
system.sysDescr.0 = Linux (none) 2.4.20 #61 Thu Apr 8 22:23:49 Local
time zone must be set--see zic manu mips
system.sysObjectID.0 = OID: enterprises.8072.3.2.10
system.sysUpTime.0 = Timeticks: (160102137) 18 days, 12:43:41.37
system.sysContact.0 = Andrew Jakabovics
system.sysName.0 = Fifth_Floor_AP
system.sysLocation.0 = 5th floor

Here's the new one:

david@www:~$ snmpwalk 66.160.4.144 -c public
system.sysDescr.0 = Linux (none) 2.4.20 #854 Tue Dec 30 18:57:40 CST
2003 mips
system.sysObjectID.0 = OID: enterprises.8072.3.2.10
system.sysUpTime.0 = Timeticks: (9149117) 1 day, 1:24:51.17
system.sysContact.0 = David Barak
system.sysName.0 = Fourthfloor.gibsoncondo.com
system.sysLocation.0 = Fourth Floor Power Room

and here's the old one, whose behavior is correct:

david@www:~$ snmpwalk 66.160.4.143 -c public
system.sysDescr.0 = Linux (none) 2.4.5 #437 Mon Jan 27 13:03:46 CST

system.sysObjectID.0 = OID: enterprises.8072.3.2.10
system.sysUpTime.0 = Timeticks: (1227259522) 142 days, 1:03:15.22
system.sysContact.0 = David Barak
system.sysName.0 = Thirdfloor.gibsoncondo.com
system.sysLocation.0 = Third Floor Meter Room
system.sysORLastChange.0 = Timeticks: (68) 0:00:00.68

Does anyone know how to get SNMP working right on the must_die or new
firmware?

Can I guess? That's what happens when the snmpd.conf authorizations
aren't set. You get the first few OID's and then it stops. I wrote a
rant about it long ago. Digging....See:

I'm not sure what's inside the must_die's version of the firmware, but
it might be similar. Anyway, it's good place to start. If it's not
/etc/snmp/snmpd.conf, it's some similar file.
