just an update - from previous threads on this same subject -

Just upgraded the WAP11 (original) firmware from 1.3i to 1.4i.1
along with the desktop software to version 1.7d.2.9 -
Then tried to access the WAP11 using the SNMP interface -
it failed the password - as has been previously discussed -

After searching and reading the previous threads on this -
I tried several variations of setting the password (using the USB
interface)
none of them worked -
As a last resort - as a suggested solution - Reset to Factory Defaults -
I did that - and then reset the various parms...along with the
passwords,
and now it can be accessed via the SNMP interface -

I also noticed that the "Find Access Point" function did not work
either,
but after the "reset" - it did find and list the AP in the dialog box -

It would appear that the SNMP functions were somehow messed up,
and not working until a "factory reset" -

I also noticed in our desktop software firewall log,
that there were several "SNMP backdoor" broadcasts coming from the AP
that I had not seen before -

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!

I didn't see any of the previous discussion.

Today, I let Linksys talk me into upgrading fw on my WAP11 from 1.3i
to 1.4i to try to solve a problem with a (new) WUSB11 connecting but
not DHCPing through my WAP11. The firmware upgrade did not solve the
WUSB11 problem. What was worse was that I lost the ability to use the
SNMP configurator remotely to change the WAP11 and I had to use the
USB configurator while directly connected with a USB cable which is
really inconvient with my physical setup. I made two more calls to
Linksys and they didn't have a clue. They said the SNMP configurator
was flakey on the 1.4i fw and the best they could do was send me the
1.3i fw to burn the unit back down. Neither time did the firmware
arrive by email as promised. I was getting ready to go out tomorrow
to buy a new unit and then I read your message! After reseting to
factory defaults, I was finally able to set a password and get the
SNMP configurator to work again!

Of course I still have the problem with the WUSB11, but I can return
that to the store and get a WET11 or something like that.
