Hello
I am trying to replace a wireless bridge setup that has recently failed. I
use two wireless
bridge radios, one connecting to the WAN port of my netgear router, and the
other
radio 4 blocks away connected to a Cisco WAN and out on the internet.
I have attempted to replace the units with Linksys WAP11's. I have others in
operation
in the AP mode, and am happy with them. But, in the wireless bridge
configuration
and hooked to the WAN ports at both locations I can not ping, or communicate
with the radios. I am on the same IP range starting with my WAN port, each
radio,
and the cicso router. This operation had worked fine for a year with Senao
(Engenius)
radios until one of them failed. I was told by "expert" who was trying to
sell me $800.00
radios that the WAP11 was not a WAN radio.
So the question is it possible to use WAP11's attached to WAN ports of
routers?
Both of the radios work fine when hooked to the LAN side of a router, so
there might be
some truth in the guys statement.
