Does anyone know if a WAP11 will bridge to BEFW11S4? From reading the manual
online it says it will only work with another WAP11, but I would like to
know if that's true. What I need to know is will it behave like a WET11 when
connected to a router? Plan is...

CABLE MODEM
2
WRT54g
2
WAP11
2
BEFW11S4

The 54g to WAP11 bit is a bridge to my neighbors home. I'll use the g but
he's fine with b.

Thanks that's a good point, I hadn't thought about that. Perhaps a WET54g
would be a better idea. But I would still like to know if the WAP11 would
work.

No, only because the BEFW11S4 does not support bridging.

FYI, there was a point a couple years ago where Linksys posted
bridging software for the WAP11 on their site for a couple of days.

Then they apparently thought better of it. It disappeared but not
before a number of people had downloaded it.

I heard they just said "what the heck" and reposted it then.

Not sure if it is available from linksys.com now, but it will surely
be found somewhere on the web.

As far as I know that is the only unit from Linksys that supports
bridging between units. It would surprise me if bridging mode were
supported on any other unit. It could be, but I don't know.

I think if you are doing bridging unsing Linksys equipment you will be
using two WAP11s, and you are going to have to find the OS with the
bridging.
