WAP Repeaters - Linksys or other?

I am looking for a wireless repeater, or wireless range extender. Linksys
WAP 11's claim to do this with last firmware release, but only with other
WAP 11's. I see D-Link has a product which only works with their routers,
and possibly Buffalo.

I have all Linksys gear, including one WAP 11. Wondering whether to buy
another or something else?

Thanks,

Standish

A recent PC Magazine article said the D-Link repeater works with other
vendors. The D-Link web site says it will with future firmware updates.
Suggest an e-mail to them to find out the current status.

Hi Standish, Bob is correct - I am using the D-Link DWL-800AP+ Wireless
Extender in the default "Repeater Mode" with a Draytech Vigor 2200w+ ISDN
Router and it works just fine - for you info I live in a former 13th Century
Abbey and it has walls in excess of 3 feet thick and it works just great.
