Hi,
How do i get the windows password prompt to come up. On
this website it tells you how to get rid of it but not the
other way round.

Windows Me doesn't display the Windows password prompt if your user
name doesn't have a password. So, you need to add a password:

1. Go to Control Panel | Network and set the primary network logon to
Windows Logon.

2. Go to Control Panel | Passwords | Change Windows Password.

3. Enter a non-blank new password.

4. Log off.

5. Log on with the new password.

May I ask you a question: Why do you want the Windows password prompt
to come up? It doesn't give any type of security or access control.
You can press Cancel, bypass the password prompt, and still use the
computer.

If you add HKLM/Network/Logon
DWORD: MustBeValidated = 1
It will force validation before letting you in.
(CAUTION: if done incorrectly it can lock you out of your
own computer)

Thanks, I was looking for this info also. The reason I
want to see the logon is that Norton Antivirus autoprotect
is not loading when I logon as another user. One of the
suggested fixes from symantec was to logon as that user
at the start up. I'm skeptical but will give it a try.
